Hi all, back in july of last year, myself, John Latham & benjamin visited Gert jan nijsse, in Holland, Gert had kindly organised a workshop at his home, so we could learn and use Golden Proceed glazes, i cannot thank Gert & his lovely wife, for their hospitality, for what was a fantastic weekend, there are lots of little stories from this weekend, but Gert & Benjamin would tell them better than me, especially having to share a double bed with Benjamin! (enough said)!

Some more pics, Gert lives in the Dutch town of Goes, it was a really beautifull place, all the houses were very well decorated, with all the front doors painted in a high gloss finish. Me & john meet Benjamin & Gert at Antwerp train station, which was full of real and painted marble

It was nice to have these guys in, absorbing all there's to tell and show in a short period of time. We worked hard on friday, hardly any sleep, working hard on saturday and finishing with a small diner.
I found a B&B after calling quite a lot of hosts, but July is pretty full with tourists in the Southwest delta of Holland. I finaly found a B&B in a small quiet, peaceful village near Goes. Cosy, typical Dutch, mind your head type of home. Nothing much going on there, No screaming, drunk punks keeping you out of sleep, the 3 guests ready to have a relaxing nap.
One thing I didnt realize, this hardly isolated, single glass windscreened home is NEXT TO THE CHURCH BELFRY. During the night every quarter of an hour some (??**!!) English comments on the bells sounded like an echo, a second hammer on the bell itself, which made the windows trumble move the bed a few inches, and destroying the masonery joints one by one.......I forgot to tell what my father always told me; "When you can't stand the noise of a belfry, railways or airport, the first 2 nights you better sleep somewhere else...." . But anyway, fresh and ambitious I picked them up next morning to keep on working....
as we did. Rouge Royal, Portoro, Green Antique, great results, compliments and thanks for being so very interested and make the effort to travel and invest in this everlasting passion. Cheers!!
