Texas has started an ICA chapter and we had our first meeting in the fall. Although most meetings, tours, etc are held throughout the state, this one was at architect Michael Imber's office here in SA.

When Nicola and I walked in, we finally felt we belonged to a local like- minded group. It was amazing to see professors, architects, other high end finishers, gilders, etc who understood our passion.

The Texas Chapter called today to see if we could host the next ICA meeting. It will be August 14th, Friday 4-6. If you are interested in attending, please contact us. I will post a reminder. We have also been in talks of taking a program abroad.

I guess the moral of the story here is, join if you are interested. This may be great networking. It sure is food for the soul.

Thanks for posting this information Lynne!

we have a chapter here as well. some pretty cool events like tours and lectures.

if you cannot make it to rome, there are other workshops in drawing, painting and sculpture offered through this group- these are intensive classes in new york city

a very good place to get some of those classical, academic skills, especially important if you are interested in painting more realistically.

If you haven't joined the ICA, it may be a great way to make contacts and drum up business. We recently joined and were asked by the Texas chapter on Friday to host a soiree at our studio August 14, 4-8. They chose 3 different cities for the summer soirees and we were lucky enough to have been chosen for the South Texas area. If anyone would like to come from the forum, albeit, if you are not too far away, we would love to have you Exclamation
When it gets closer to the date, I will fill you in on what we have planned, but I know that there will be many fields represented who are classically trained and / or appreciate the classical arts.
