In 2004 we started NICS School of Decorative Painting in Ontario with 4-week (160 hours) programs in Specialty Finishing. We also have numerous workshops from 2 to 5 days for Apprentices and Journeypersons in the trade of Painting & Decorating.
Starting from May 2007 we delivering 24-week hands-on programs for the province of Ontario in partnership with painters union (IUPAT) and Ontario Industrial and Finishing Skills Center. After 24 weeks in class our students will go for on-the-job 26-week training.
In this topic I would like to share with you pics from our program (if you do not mind  ).

Thank you for watching! We have elements of "Decorative Painting for Painters & Decorators" build in to the program. girls love it very much, but it also highly recomended for boys!

Licensing is good, but we were really lucky to start Pre-apprenticeship programs in Specialty Finishing plus about 480 hours in Apprenticeship programs. Plus unlimited workshops for journey persons, so-called Additional Qualification workshops. We started different programs, but it comes down to employment - if we will employ or find employment for students...

Kathy, thanks again for watching! Interesting enough that girl on the photo running Children's Mural Program after adult workshops. Not to mention that workshops itself start at 7a.m. and kids come at 4p.m. Not much time to be bored.... 
All adult programs supported (funded) by Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU), Ontario Works and IUPAT. They are free for students.
