I don't think I ever commented on this painting when it was first posted so I will now! I've been lost for 5 minutes going between the 2 versions and think the first version is in the morning, with hazy white light and the later version is early evening, with golden light and more stuff lying around. But the people haven't moved. Why? Why? WHY?
By the way, I love this painting and can find nothing wrong with it! The last thing you want to do at the beach is look at people head-on.

Heidi,
It's the same painting, not two different versions if you thought that.
(That would have driven me absolutely crazy.)
I was able to change a lot of it by simply by glazing warmer colours over the original.
The sand is one example where I was able to just glaze over it.
I did repaint a lot of the people, but moving them wasn't really an option even though I wasn't all that happy with the position of a few of them.

Thanks.

I know it's the same painting, Ron! But it was interesting to have the two next to each other on your post and imagine I was on the same spot in morning and evening. Now go paint duplicates of all the rest of your paintings, at different times of the day. Such as the Ron as Devil painting, but in the morning, brushing your teeth.

OK, I get it. Ha Ha.
BTW, demons don't brush their teeth!

I like it...but of course.

I am really drawn by the little girl in the sand. I wonder what she is playing with that is so interesting?

Ron, Beautiful work my friend! I'm really liking the peer or the board walk thing. Excellent.

Ron, The final painting is beautiful !!!! I think adding the shovel and things on the beach and toning down that bucket really pulls the painting together. My eyes are focused in your painting now not bouncing around now. you are a great artist thank-you !!!!!!!

Wow, this old thread has still got a bit of life in it?
Thanks again.

Jason,
I think about you and water fairly every now and then.
I want to paint some gooey dribbles and remember how you did your falling water.
I might use some honey or similar as a reference.

Cheers.
